The Cancer Foundation is proud to be the official charity partner of the 3rd Annual Classic City Marathon & Half Marathon!
This January, take part in the Classic City Marathon as a charity runner. By doing so, you will help local cancer patients in need. Don't just run for medals; run for a mission.
The Concept
The Cancer Foundation is proud to be named the Official Charity Partner of the 2026 Classic City Marathon. This partnership brings a unique opportunity for runners, walkers and other to make a difference.
Charity runners are truly making a difference. Through events like marathons participants raise nearly five-times more than traditional fundraising campaigns. Runner share that they are more motivated by a connection to a cause, the challenge of training and the chance to rally their community. In 2025, the Boston Marathon reached a record setting $50.4 million dollars in donations and fundraising.
Here is How It Works
Register for the race – Sign up for the Classic City Marathon, Half Marathon, or 5K.
Set up your fundraising page – You’ll receive easy-to-use tools to customize your page with your photo, story, and fundraising goal.
Invite support – Share your page on social media, through email, or with a simple conversation. Small gifts add up quickly when your community rallies behind you.
Celebrate your impact – Cross the finish line knowing you’ve helped local cancer patients face one of life’s hardest challenges.
Ready to Try?
When you register as a charity runner, you’ll commit to raising funds that directly support patients in Northeast Georgia who are facing cancer and financial hardship. In return, The Cancer Foundation will cover your race registration, outfit you with a special team shirt, and cheer you on every step of the way from training to the finish line.
Runners commit to:
$1,500 for Half Marathon Runners
$2,000 for Marathon Runners
$2,500 for Relay Teams
Classic City Marathon will give you a code good for $10 off your registration when you let them know that you are committed to trying to raise the required minimum amount. Use this quick form to let them know you are interested in being a charity runner.
Whether you choose the full marathon, half marathon, or marathon relay, you’ll be part of an incredible community united for a cause. Form your team. Set your goal. Make your miles matter.
